Bordeaux was a sweet city. They actually had a tramway so we could get around. Although, after realizing that we were 30 cents short to take it home, we walked along le Garrone river instead along the Mirroir d'eau, the Mirror of water, where we saw a puppy happily playing in the steam. We walked along the quartier de Notre Dame (seems to be that the Notre Dame is everywhere!), ate crepes FINALLY, and went on even sweeter wine tours.
Right, so this is the important part: Be prepared to be schooled in wine knowledge when we get back, because we know tradition like no other. If only Washington weren't so wet we'd actually be able to grow some decent grapes (perhaps on the East side?), then we could bottle our own. Nevertheless, we toured, we drank, we learned, we conquered.
Did I mention that we can also school you all in champagne knowledge? Even though we did not have true Champagne from the Champagne region (they're quite particular about their alcohols here, which is weird because it was actually all started because the English and the Spanish came and wanted better wine back in the day. That and champagne is actually an accident that they marketed well and now charge an arm and a leg for. That's clever business strategy.
Right, so we drank, we toured, we ate grapes in castles. It was, how you say? The shit.
On to Toulouse to visit Laurence et Laurent!
