Okay, Mom(s) and Dad(s), we made it just fine. Our things didn't get stolen and we have not slept on the street (yet, though the park benches are rather comfy). How are you?
So yesterday turned out to be quite the zombie-fying adventure: we arrived in Paris around 7:40 AM, so we officially time warped ahead of you guys. It's a 9 or 10 hour difference, depending on which of us you gave birth to. Upon arrival, we figured out the metro system and hopped a train towards our hostel- The 3 Ducks (the name is actually in English). Funny thing about that, WE didn't find it, we just looked so lost that a strange Parisian pointed us in the right direction without us even asking. Then we ditched our bags and found a sweet cafe and had tons of coffee, as we were not allowed to go to our room at the time.
When we could get in, we crashed...hard. We're in a 2 bunk room, and luckily our roommates were not around to wake us up :). Anyway, after sleeping a bit, we hit the town and found a cool cemetary, of all places, and mosied a bit. This was our first encounter with a bench and sleeping on them. That's right. We crashed again. In a cemetary.
THEN, when it was dinner time, we went to a magical little restaurant, had a plate of cheese like the real French folk, and drank wine, again like the French do :). As we walked out of the restaurant, there was a crazy spotlight flashing around in the air. Upon inspection, it turned out to be some weird antenna or something- the locals here call it the Eiffel Tower. We were able to walk over to it, so we did, and it was amazing, especially at night, as it was glittering! Then we went to bed. End of day 1...insert disk for day 2.
OH! Still figuring out the picture business, but we'll be posting some as soon as we can upload more than one at a time.
Peace out.

was it Père Lachaise cemetery by chance? went there a couple summers ago to "see" Marcel Proust, Jim Morrison, and Chopin... very cool place but VERY easy to get lost within!
